Game Type

Ball, Bubble, Parts and Ammo Shooters

primarily target inannimate objects, and are easy to add to family game libraries without having lots of violence. Even with the presence of "bombs" most cases the targets are inanimate objects. As all of these shooters use some sort of ammunition. Arcade Games for the PC

Zuma

The radial shooter piviots from a fixed base or turret in the center of the playing area... in this case it's a frog that shoots beads. Streaming targets "lines of beads" moving along curved paths (or tracks) require making matching of groups of 3 like colored beads before they are removed. All targets must be removed before reaching their final destination Zuma puts the shooter in the middle of the board so the shooter rotates in 360 degrees (that's a full circle). Full rotation shooters usually require the gamer to adjust their personal playing position further away from the screen especially for fast moving or steaming targets and when there is a lot of annimation. When too close to the screen, rapid eye movement is required to keep an eye on the entire game area. This is less of a problem on game systems, because it is more usual that the players have the options to sit at a greater working distance from the screen with long wires to the controller. However, the PC gamer often plays at the same working distance from the screen as when they work on their computers - out of habit. Failure to reposition yourself will result in eye strain and possibly headaches.
There are many Zuma fans. Zuma is rated highly. However, the sound effects are quite irratating to me. Immediatedly, I turn off both the sound and the music for this game. It is a loud game with the seound of an arcade room....the whole room. At first glance, it seemed amazing. However, I can't play it very long at all. Though the colors are pretty...the shades used with the light reflection streaming actoss the page is too much. It's not the fact that it's bright and flashy...it' has more to do with the color combinations and the way the light streams. I can last about 10 minutes and I have to stop. And that's not only because I am terrible at it. Though the background looks to be soothing shades, there is a speckle effect and it seems as though light is illuminating the page. Sure great special effects for the "wow factor". It gives me eye aches and headaces. Though I can turn down the background shades on my normal pages, you don't have much choice in games. This is something that should be considered when using demos. Do you want to play the game for short sessions or long periods? Hey, I'm not an eye doctor and I can't give you medical advice. It is my opinion that if you want to avoid eye damage and you really want this game then please turn down your monitor's contrast settings during game play. I understand that they put a lot of thought into picking colors that appeal to the larger numbers of the public. I'm happy for the fans that love this game. I know that if they changed these things in their updates thay most of the Zuma fans would be angry. Over all I like "Popcap's" games, but I don't think I'll ever get through all the levels. The frog bothers me. Where is he getting all those wooden beads he keeps shooting out his mouth? If they are bubbles, I don't feel anymore comfortable about chains of spit bubbles than spitting wooden beads. Try out the demo for yourself...you may be one of the many millions of people who give this game your approval .Sure it's fun as an online game. A lot of times when trying out a new online game you might not excpect to last that long...a lot like in an arcade room. But, when you buy a game, usually you get better at it. I don't see myself getting better at this particular game. The front end is bueatifully done. The setting is Myan or Inca ruins, and caves in the mountain overgrown with brush. As you uncover levels the brush clears and lights appear to the tunnel entrances. It looks great. Basically, there are two modes: Hard and Crazy. They don't call it that but, that's the settings. There is a "practice" selection when you get to the "crazy" area. Practicing doesn't help much, for me on this case. added info:

Eggs

:
In order to be considered an "egg" it must be something intentionally put in by the designers, something extra and hidden or unexplained that you must hunt for or find.
example A Zuma egg is found on the front or main screen. If you click the frog's eyes then the eyes will follow your cursor around
Karu, Luxor, Piriate Popper, Beetle Bomp and many others also use visible curved tracks where the balls are continuously moving. Full Version Review by debraford123
